The Reece Endeavor Garden Walk is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15 and attendees will have the opportunity to tour five gardens and enjoy refreshments at one of Midland’s most unique treasures, the Dow Gardens. The 2009 GardenWalk will feature both a Silent Auction and raffle. Silent Auction items include a four-ticket package with fabulous box seats to a Detroit Tigers game, a weekend stay at the beautiful H hotel in downtown Midland, a flowering Crab tree installed by Reder Landscaping, magnificent stonework (pictured on the left) and other amazing items donated by local merchants. The items will be on display at the Saunders garden at 714 W. Main and bids will be taken at all gardens. Prior to July 14, items are on display at the Reece Endeavor office at 2723 Jefferson, Midland so stop by and take a look!
Again this year, thanks to many generous local businesses, there will be over 70 raffle prizes given away. Raffle tickets are 3 for $5.00 and will be available at all gardens. Raffle tickets are also available now from GardenWalk committee members. You need not be present to win. Winners will be contacted by phone.
2008 Proceeds Fund New Building Project
The 5th Annual Reece Endeavor Garden Walk drew over 800 viewers to see some
of Midland's most beautiful residential gardens, raising over $25,000 to
benefit the Endeavor. Proceeds were used to build a new home on land donated
by Memorial Presbyterian Church of Midland. This two-bedroom barrier-free
home was built for the Reece Endeavor by the Midland Public Schools Building
Trades Program and the City of Midland.
Once again, the Reece Endeavor extends a sincere thank you to all sponsors and donors of the 2008 Garden Walk.
